Elvis Williams was born in Clarksdale. He is a current R&B, pop, rap and hip-hop artist, producer, pianist, and songwriter. Best known as Blac Elvis, he is a Grammy Award winner who came to national attention producing hits for Beyonce, Usher, Jamie Foxx, Ludacris, Ciara, Fergie, Nelly, Pussycat Dolls, and Mario.
Blac Elvis has also launched two record labels or his own (Black Mud Entertainment and Mars On Sunday Latino). Among his best-known hits are top 40 singles with Fergie (“London Bridge” & “Glamorous”) Ciara (“Promise”) Kelly Rowland (“Like This”) Mario (“Crying Out For Me”) Beyoncé (“Ego”) and for Usher (“Lil Freak”).
His recordings include credits as a producer, co-producer, writer, or co-writer on more than a score of hit records since 2006, and like the career of former Clarksdale music pioneer Nate Dogg, Blac Elvis’s success is an important example to our youth today… “that one can make it for sure if they apply themselves and really try.” Blac Elvis
